If you’re ready for the convenience of hosting your Podcast on Podbean, you can migrate your self-hosted podcast to Podbean. Please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Importing your podcasts
Click on Switch to Podbean to sign up an account and import your podcast feed.
Step 2: Redirect the old podcast feed to your Podbean feed
If you have already submitted a feed in iTunes and are migrating to Podbean, you will need to update the feed in iTunes so that they pull from your new Podbean feed (found in your Podbean Dashboard–>Settings–>Feed/iTunes). You will need to set a redirect on your old feed, and a new feed URL tag on your new feed.
Your first step is to set your previous web server/hosting site to return an HTTP 301 redirect response when it receives a request for the old feed. You can read our articles on migrating from various services to see more detail, or contact support with your previous hosting site.
If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the Podbean Support team at http://help.podbean.com/support/home.
can the stats from captivate, get imported too, when i migrate to podbean?
That’s a great question! When migrating from Captivate to Podbean, your episodes and RSS feed can transfer smoothly, but typically the detailed stats (like downloads, listener data, etc.) don’t migrate automatically, since each platform tracks analytics differently. It’s a good idea to export and save your Captivate stats before the move so you can keep a full record.
