Podbean removes emails from podcaster’s RSS feeds to protect podcaster privacy and reduce spam

This shows a stop sign with the word SPAM in it. The words read "Podbean removes emails from podcaster’s RSS feeds to protect podcaster privacy and reduce spam".

In the last few months, the podcasting community has expressed that they’ve been receiving countless spam emails from third parties. Much of this has been from spam bots scanning RSS feeds, discovering emails, and sending spam their way (which is no bueno in our book).

Podbean has taken the next steps to protect podcaster’s privacy by removing your email address from your show’s RSS feed! Podbean will no longer require your email to be part of your RSS feed. Podbean will hide the email in your podcast’s RSS feed.

Some directories will still require email verification when you submit to them. No problem! Podbean will allow podcasters to temporarily display an email in their RSS Feed for 48 hours when they want to submit their podcasts to a directory that requires email verification. Podbean will then automatically remove the email 48 hours later.

Your privacy is important to Podbean. We are excited to make this update for our podcasting community and to do our part to help fight against spam! 🤖

  2. This doesn’t seem to work for me. The email doesn’t appear even if I select the toggle as shown in the above.

Hi there! We always suggest logging out and back in, and restarting your browser if you’re seeing issues like this in the dashboard. If you’re still seeing the issue, please email our support team at support@podbean.com so we can check out what’s going on!

      • I’m having the same issue, and no amount of logging out and back in helps. I will email, but it seem to be a persistant problem.

      • Has This Issue ever been resolved? I’m having the same problem

  4. I am currently experiencing difficulties in the process of the email appearing on my RSS feed. Despite having performed multiple login and logout attempts, I regret to report that my efforts have not yielded the desired outcome. 🙁
