Podbean | Migrating Your Podcast from Spreaker to Podbean

Podbean offers so many great features and benefits for podcasters, so you may be thinking of moving your podcast from Spreaker to Podbean. Many podcasters hesitate because they think it could be complicated or costly to migrate their podcast. But, we make it super simple for you to move your Spreaker podcast over to Podbean. And, there’s no cost to migrate unlimited media to Podbean.

Step 1: Import your Podcasts

After you create a Podbean account, simply go to “Publish” in your Podbean dashboard and click on “Import RSS”. You will enter your Spreaker feed url there and the tool will automatically begin migrating your podcasts*.

*Titles and text will migrate immediately, audio and video files will take about 15-30 minutes to load.

Step 2: Redirect the Spreaker feed to your Podbean feed

  1. Log into Spreaker and click “Settings”
  2. Select “RSS Feed Customization”
  3. Select “Redirect” in the drop-down box under “RSS FEED”
  4. Paste your RSS feed URL into the “New Feed URL” box
  5. Click “Save”

Spreaker will then add the entered iTunes redirect tag to your feed for you. You can log into your iTunes Podcast Connect page and refresh your feed. If not, iTunes will pick up the change within a few days. We recommend keeping your old Spreaker feed in place for a few weeks to ensure all subscribers have moved across.

Step 3: Turn on the iTunes new feed URL tag in your Podbean account

1. Log in to your Podbean account and go to the ‘Settings’->’Feed/iTunes’ page.

2. Scroll down the page, turn on the “iTunes:new-feed-url”, then click the “Update Options” button to save your changes.

Step 4: Update your podcast information in iTunes

Podbean | Migrating to Podbean from a Self-Hosted Podcast

If you’re ready for the convenience of hosting your Podcast on Podbean, you can migrate your self-hosted podcast to Podbean in 4 steps.

Step 1: Importing your podcasts

After you open your account, simply go to “Publish” in your Podbean dashboard and click on “Import RSS”. You will enter your old feed url there and the tool will automatically begin migrating your podcasts (titles and text will migrate immediately, audio and video files will usually take about 15-30 minutes to load).

Step 2: Redirect the old podcast feed to your Podbean feed

If you have already submitted a feed in iTunes and are migrating to Podbean, you will need to update the feed in iTunes so that they pull from your new Podbean feed. You will need to set a redirect on your old feed, and a new feed URL tag on your new feed.

Your first step is to set your previous web server/hosting site to return an HTTP 301 redirect response when it receives a request for the old feed. You can read our articles on migrating from various services to see more detail, or contact support with your previous hosting site.

Step 3: Turn on the iTunes new feed URL tag in your Podbean account

1. Log in to your Podbean account and go to the ‘Settings’->’Feed/iTunes’ page.

Migrating to Podbean from Blubrry

We make it really easy for you to move your Blubrry podcast over to Podbean.

Step 1: Import Your Podcasts

Step 2: Redirect your Blubrry feed to Podbean feed

Migrating to Podbean from PodOmatic

It’s easy to move your PodOmatic podcast over to Podbean.

Step 1: Import your podcasts

After you create a Podbean account, simply go to “Publish” in your Podbean dashboard and click on “Import RSS”. You will enter your PodOmatic feed url there and the tool will automatically begin migrating your podcasts (titles and text will migrate immediately, audio and video files will take about 15-30 minutes to load).

Step 2: Set 301 Redirect on your old feed

Set up a redirect in Podomatic. Contact Podomatic about how to set up a 301 redirect to your new Podbean feed (may only be available for Podomatic Pro Users). Your podomatic feed should be redirected to your Podbean feed url, something as: https://yoursubdomain.podbean.com/feed. We recommend keeping your old feed/site in place for a few weeks to ensure all subscribers have moved across.

Step 3: Turn on iTunes new feed URL tag in your Podbean account

1. Log in to your Podbean account and go to the ‘Settings’->’Feed/iTunes’ page.

Moving Your Podcast from Libsyn to Podbean

We make it easy for you to move your Libsyn podcast over to Podbean. First, set up your account in Podbean and choose the plan you like.

Step 1: Import your podcasts

Simply go to “Publish” in your Podbean dashboard and click on “Import RSS”. You will enter your Libsyn feed url there and the tool will automatically begin migrating your podcast episodes (titles and text will migrate immediately, audio and video files will take about 15-30 minutes to load).

Step 2: Redirect your feed

–Log into your Dashboard (www.libsyn.com)
–Select Destinations
––Select Podcast RSS Feed (or Libsyn Classic Feed)
–Scroll towards the bottom and select Advanced Options
–Enter your Podbean feed URL in the Redirect Feed to this Web Address text box
–Hit Save

Step 3: Set up an iTunes new feed URL tag in Podbean
